Miss CariMiss Cari

My mom took me to my first dance lesson when I was three years old. Like most young kids my energy was boundless. With the helpful guidance of my parents I realized that I needed a creative outlet through which to channel my energy. Dance naturally proved to be the perfect outlet.

Many joyful, dance lesson filled years followed. I studied with: Dance Academy of Fallbrook, Beech Street Dance, Performing Arts Civic Light Opera House of San Diego, Creative Impact Dance Studio, Disneyland Resorts, and with North Idaho College by way of their wonderful dance program. Eventually, I decided it was time to give back to the world the training I had absorbed throughout my youth and young adulthood.

Now, over a quarter century since that first lesson, my passion for dancing has only grown stronger. I firmly believe that dance is one of the greatest ways to express our natural zest for life. My philosophy at Dance Forever Studio seeks to nurture our kinetic natures through classical dance forms. And whether my dancers wish to try dance out as a fun and fulfilling extra-curricular activity or they plan to evolve into accomplished professionals, I approach all classes with an un-biased, supportive attitude. May everyone "dance forever!"

Rachel BlanchardRachel Blanchard

Hello to all. My name is Rachel Blanchard and I teach Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Modern and Ballet at Dance Forever Studio.

Dance has always been a very big part of my life. There are 5 girls in my family and every one of us studied dance at some point. My poor Mom constantly having to watch the basement dance recitals we would spend hours putting together at home for her enjoyment... it must have been pretty entertaining at times with all of us competing for the spotlight. Needless to say, most of my childhood memories consist of dancing in some way or another.

Many different studios and various experiences have ultimately contributed to my dance training. To mention a few: Studio C, Centennial High School's Sweet Liberty Dance, B.Y.U. Idaho's Contemporary Dance Theater, and Utah State University's Sunburst Dance Team. I completed school with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and an Associate's Degree in Health Education and Dance. My understanding of the complexity of human body and the art of teaching were two of the most valuable lessons I gained from my college experience. In the years since graduation, I have enjoyed instructing for the Portland Community Ballet and Forest Grove Dance Arts of Oregon. I now am very excited to find myself in California and teaching for Dance Forever Studio!

My love for dance is strong as ever. Dance is a tool to develop one's spirit and mind through the body. It is my privilege as an instructor to provide my dancers with an understanding of the body and its wonderful capabilities and to support them in experiencing the fullness and the joy dance can bring into life.

My mom also took me to my first Ballet class when I was three years old. I wore my pink tutu and I remember loving every minute of dance class. My love for dance has not changed since then. After taking dance with Parks and Recreation I started going to various dance studios, including Torrance Cultural Arts Center, South Bay Conservatory, Fusion and Lauridsen Ballet Centre. I focused on Tap, Ballet and Jazz. I stared taking dance seriously when I was in high school. I was on the South High School Advanced Competition Dance Team, competing in Hip-Hop, Jazz and Lyrical. I have studied Ballet intensely over the past four years and I absolutely love it. I'm taking Ballet at my current school El Camino College. I am majoring in Sociology and plan to minor in Dance. I am also in the Honors Transfer Program and I hope to transfer to UCLA.

The past six years of my life have been devoted to dance. My love for dance started at age 2. I had my first dance recital at the Norris Theatre in Rolling Hills, although my mom says I was more interested in looking at the crowd than performing my dance routine. I stopped dancing for a while but was later inspired by my cousin Cameron Broom after attending one of his dance competitions. I performed at the 2004 Major League Soccer Cup Championship Final half time show with the grammy nominated rock group "Switchfoot". For the past 2 years i have attended Tremaine Dance Conventions. Under the guidance of Miss Cari, I took Gold In my first Starbound Dance Competition. At present I am a member of the Cerritos College Song Team. I look forward to helping all the children experience the joys of dancing not just now but hopefully...FOREVER!

Carina has been dancing since she was five years old. The majority of her training has taken place in Los Angeles, begining at the former Dance Factory where she danced for ten years, then continuing on to the Advanced Dance Team at South Torrance Highschool for four years. She then continued to dance at San Jose State University, where she also taught classes at several studios in the area and for an after-school program for inner-city kids. Carina loves teaching and working with kids and is delighted to be at Dance Forever!

My mom and I walked into my first ballet class as spectators when I was three years old. It wasn't long before I realized it was time to stop watching and start dancing. I started with ballet and tap classes at Center Stage Dance Academy in Palos Verdes, and went on to study jazz, hip-hop and lyrical as well. Years later I became a member of the competition dance team Jr. Troupe, performing in competitions throughout southern California and Las Vegas. Last year I was on the varsity dance team at at Mira Costa High School, where I am now a sophomore. Currently I'm dancing with the local competition dance team known as Dazzlers. We've performed throughout California in such places as Knott's Berry Farm and Sea World.

I'm excited to now be working at Dance Forever Studio as a ballet and tap teacher. It is very rewarding to share my years of dance experience with the young students. Dance is my passion and I hope to be teaching for many more years to come.
